These brief bios below include some updates about the recently released books shown above.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Groff\u00a0<\/strong>is the author of three books of poems, most recently\u00a0<strong><em>Live in Suspense<\/em><\/strong>, published in 2023 by Trio House Press. His previous books are\u00a0<em>Clay\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Theory of Devolution<\/em>. He is the coeditor of\u00a0<em>Who\u2019s Yer Daddy?: Gay Writers Celebrate Their Mentors and Forerunners<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Persistent Voices: Poetry by Writers Lost to AIDS<\/em>. She is also the author of the collection\u00a0<i>Wrens Fly Through This Opened Window<\/i>\u00a0and four chapbooks, including the prizewinning\u00a0<i>Wait for Me, I\u2019m Gone<\/i>.\u00a0Her poems have been on\u00a0<i>Verse Daily\u00a0<\/i>and in\u00a0<i>The Best American Poetry<\/i>,\u00a0and nominated by journal editors for Best of the Net and Pushcart Prizes. She grew up in northern New Jersey and lives in Brooklyn, New York.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ruth Danon<\/strong>\u2019s fourth book of poetry,\u00a0<strong><em>Turn Up the Heat<\/em><\/strong>, was published by Nirala Series in the summer of 2023. Her previous books are\u00a0<em>Word Has It\u00a0<\/em>(Nirala Series 2018),\u00a0<em>Limitless Tiny Boat<\/em>\u00a0(BlazeVOX, 2015),\u00a0<em>Triangulation from a Known Point\u00a0<\/em>(North Star Line, 1990), a chapbook,\u00a0<em>Living with the Fireman\u00a0<\/em>(Ziesing Brothers, 1980), and a book of literary criticism,\u00a0<em>Work in the English Novel<\/em>\u00a0(Croom-Helm, 1985)<em>,\u00a0<\/em>which was reissued by Routledge in 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elaine Sexton<\/strong>\u2019s most recent collection of poetry is\u00a0<strong><em>Drive\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(Grid Books, 2022).\u00a0<em>The Post Office,<\/em>\u00a0a chamber opera in poems, is a new work-in-progress, a collaboration with composer Laura Kaminsky, commissioned by Queen City Opera. A maker, art writer, micro-publisher, and educator, she teaches at the Sarah Lawrence College Writing Institute and at arts and writing centers in the U.S. and abroad.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/elainesexton.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/elainesexton.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1710225279485000&amp;usg=AOvVaw21pnS66B0oazY8rGc48CSd\">elainesexton.org<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Elaine Sexton recently signed a contract with Grid Books to publish\u00a0<em>Site-Specific: New &amp; Selected\u00a0<\/em>in 2025.\u00a0 She is currently at work on\u00a0<em>The Post Office: A Chamber Opera in Poems<\/em>\u00a0(music by composer Laura Kaminsky), commissioned by the Queen City Opera, to be workshopped by The Cincinnati Opera\/Opera Fusion New Works in January, 2025. She has been awarded a 2024 fellowship\/residency at The Hermitage Artist Retreat to work on\u00a0<em>The Post Office Opera<\/em>\u00a0to work in collaboration with the composer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Winter 2018-19<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For National Poetry Month, on April 18, Urban Range poets <strong>Ruth Danon<\/strong>, <strong>Sally Dawidoff<\/strong> and <strong>Hermine Meinhard<\/strong> read at an event hosted by <strong>Stephen Massimilla<\/strong> at Cornelia Street Caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>On April 15, Stephen Massimilla participated in a reading at The New School, accompanied by J Liebson, Nkosi Ife Bandele, and Olga Breydo.<\/p>\n<p>On Feb 13, Stephen Massimilla was the featured reader, with J. Chester Johnson, at the\u00a0<em>BigCityLit\u00a0<\/em>anniversary event at Book Culture bookstore.<\/p>\n<p>On November 25, Stephen Massimilla lead a roundtable discussion with Urban Range poet Amy Holman and poets Anne-Marie Levine, Patricia Carlin, and Paolo Javier at the Helix Center of the NY Psychoanalytic Society. They discussed the poetry world today (viewing the conception, production, reception, and promotion of poetry through various lenses\u2014formal, linguistic, conceptual, and psychological). The event was followed by a Q &amp; A.<\/p>\n<p>On November 20<sup>th<\/sup>, Sally Dawidoff and Stephen Massimilla read at Bluestockings Bookstore in an event honoring Carol Alexander; other readers included Scott Hightower, Ron Kolm, Daniel Schwartz, George Wallace, and Francine Witte.<\/p>\n<p>On Oct 12th, Ruth Danon and Stephen Massimilla shared new work at Cornelia Street Caf\u00e9 in an event entitled \u201c\u2018Wind and Treason\u2019: Writing in a Time of Crisis,\u201d a reading focused on \u201ctaking the measure of the winds \u2026 in this ominous time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Massimilla read at KGB Bar on May 31<sup>st<\/sup>in the &#8220;Midway Journal meets Manhattan&#8221; event hosted by Ralph Pennel. Other readers included Susan Tepper, Irene O&#8217;Garden, Shinelle L. musical setting of <strong>Elisabeth Frost<\/strong>\u2019s 16-part poetic sequence \u201cAll of Us\u201d by Robin Julian Heifetz, as well as new works by Lawrence Kramer.<\/p>\n<p>Frost, Hafizah Geter, Sharon Mesmer, and Caitlin Mahoney participated in the Kill Genre Performance Series <a href=\"http:\/\/lpr.com\/lpr_events\/kill-genre-fake-news-real-january-30th-2017\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;Fake\u00a0News&#8221;<\/a> reading on January 30, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Frost had work in the inaugural issue of <a href=\"http:\/\/amp.hofstradrc.org\/issues\/1-1\/lotte-lenya\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AMP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Collaborations by Frost and artist Dianne Kornberg were exhibited in the solo show <a href=\"https:\/\/sjima.org\/exhibitions\/dianne-kornberg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;For All We Know&#8221;<\/a> at the San Juan Islands Museum in Fall 2016. The friendships of poets and painters, such as Guillaume Apollinaire and Pablo Picasso and the surrealists Andre Breton and Joan Miro, were crucial to the radical changes that would shape art and writing and the modern aesthetic. Her poems \u201cThe Beginning of the Long Line\u201d and \u201cAnonymous You\u201d were published in <em><a href=\"http:\/\/greysparrowpress.sharepoint.com\/Pages\/SUMMER2012POETRYDanon.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grey Sparrow<\/a><\/em>\u00a0and <em>On Barcelona,<\/em> respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Danon directed and taught a two-week summer intensive creative writing workshop at NYU.
