Biography

Amy Holman is a Pushcart Prize nominated poet and prose writer, teacher and literary consultant. She is the author of Wrens Fly Through This Opened Window, described by one reviewer as part freak show, part searing insight, a writer's guide, and four poetry chapbooks including the 2004 Dream Horse Press prizewinner, Wait for Me, I'm Gone. Her short fiction chapbook, Lighter Than a Dream, was a 2015 finalist at Anchor & Plume. A frequent poetry instructor at The Hudson Valley Writers Center housed in the Philipse Manor train depot, Amy lives in Brooklyn, where she hosts occasional poetry and prose readings through her Jupiter Series at The Brooklyn Workshop Gallery. She consults with writers about where to send their writing in the literary marketplace and how to communicate about what they write. More information is at www.amy-holman.com.
